Well, 2012 rang in six days ago and I hope you all had a safe New Year’s Eve. All the big holidays are over for another year. It is sad to see all the Christmas lights and decorations come down. But 2013 will be here before you know it.
As for hubby and I, there was no present under the tree that could compare with the greatest gift of having our youngest son, Jimmie, coming for a visit from Texas. It was so good to see him and we wished he lived much closer. It was quality time that is “priceless.”

Travel, learning opportunities, and a lovely open house event constitute this week’s OTOW Happenings.

    Master the Possibilities
Our Master the Possibilities Center for Lifelong Learning is in full swing for the New Year! Next week features approximately 24 classes that are just beginning, and almost all of these have openings. The variety is indeed remarkable.

The Oak Run Veterans’ Association invites all residents of Oak Run to attend a very special presentation at our meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Orchid Club. We will start the New Year with a great speaker, David Dilley, CEO of Global Weather Oscillations. He will talk and give a power point presentation about hurricane risk predications and climate change cycles. (Remember what Mark Twain said about the weather, if you don’t like it, wait a minute and it will change.) Do not miss this rare opportunity. Come early as we expect a capacity crowd.
