Write-ins withdraw; Maier elected

Heidi Maier is now officially elected as Marion County Superintendent of Schools.

The Republican candidate eliminated incumbent George Tomyn in the Aug. 30 primary.

There were two write-in candidates, Kelly Taub and Pamela Archer, and that closed the primary to non-Republican voters.

But now Taub and Archer have both withdrawn, effective Sept. 12 and 13, and that means that Maier is elected and will not appear on the November ballot.
