JoyLutheran Church

On Maundy Thursday, April 21, at 6:45 p.m., this worship service begins the three days of Christ’s Passion. Holy communion will be offered in memory of the Last Supper. The altar will be stripped in honor of Christ’s death and at the end of service; the sanctuary will be left in the dark.

On Good Friday, April 22, at 6:45 p.m., church members will give a scripture-based live performance of the Stations of the Cross. The performers will take us through the final hours of Jesus' life, along with prayer and meditation, embracing the commitment of God's love toward humanity. Christ's journey to the cross is a prologue to the resurrection which would have no meaning without Good Friday.

The joy of Easter Sunday will begin at 6:30 a.m. outdoors in the Memorial Garden (weather permitting). A continental breakfast will follow this sunrise service in Swenson Hall. Two services will follow at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The church will be decorated with spring flowers and the Bell and Vocal Choirs will perform.

These Holy Week services are open to the public and all are welcome.

JoyLutheran Church is at 7045 S.W. 83rd Place at State Raod 200, Ocala. For more information call 352-854-4509 ext 221.
