Our Redeemer Lutheran

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church is conducting mid-week (Wednesday) services at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Ocala West United Methodist

Holy Week: Maundy Thursday, April 5, 7 p.m – a Service of Confession and the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Good Friday – April 6, 7 p.m – a Reflection Service.
Easter Celebration – Sunday April 8, four services with special music and message; 6:30 a.m. Sunrise, 8 a.m, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Peace Lutheran Church

Peace Lutheran Church at 7201 South Highway 41, just 5 miles north of Dunnellon, is preparing to celebrate the season of Lent which leads to Easter.   
This year Pastor McKee is using Luther’s Catechisms for the midweek and Holy Week theme.  The midweek services will be at 7 p.m., and each Wednesday service, will be preceded by a potluck meal at 6:15 p.m.
This is an opportunity to learn about Lutheran teachings, and those who have been around the Lutheran church for a while will find this time together to be an excellent refresher.  The schedule is as follows:
Feb. 29:  This I Believe: The Apostles’ Creed, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8.
March 7:  Our Father Who Is in Heaven: The Lord’s Prayer, Matthew 6:9-13.
March 14:  The Washing of Regeneration: Holy Baptism, Matthew 28:18-20.
March 21:  We Are Forgiven: The Office of the Keys, John 20:19-23.
March 28:  We Eat a Holy Supper: The Sacrament of the Altar, Matthew 26:26-28.
April 5, Maundy Thursday:  On the Night When He Was Betrayed, 1 Corinthians 11:23-32.
April 6, Good Friday: It Is Finished, John 19:30.
April 8, Easter Sunday:  Don’t Seek the Living Among the Dead, Luke 24:1-6.
The time schedule for Easter Sunday services will be announced later.

Maranatha Baptist Church

Maranatha Baptist church annual missions conference will be March 25 through April 1.
Brother Bernie Rodgers will start the conference by speaking on Faith Promise during Sunday School on March 25 at 9:30 a.m. and during the morning Worship Service at 10:45 a.m. Mark and Sharon Hazen will speak during the 6 p.m. evening services on Benevolent Support Program.
Aaron Brindle, Missionary to India will bring the message during the Wednesday, March 28 evening service at 6:45 p.m.
On Sunday, April 1, Jesse Parnell and Kenny Evans will speak at the morning Worship Service at 10:45 a.m.  
Revival scheduled
Kenny Evans will begin a Revival on Sunday, April 1, at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Kenny is a Christian evangelical missionary and ordained pastor who brings his messages in song and sermon. He is also a recording artist.
On Monday, April 2, Tuesday, April 3 and Wednesday, April 4 evenings beginning at 6:45 p.m., Kenny Evans will speak and sing. One of those evenings will include an "Oldies Concert" centered on the Gospel message.  
All are invited to attend and be blessed by these powerful messages.
Continuing programs for children
1. The AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) program is ongoing and always open to all children from the ages 4 to 18. AWANA is an exciting program of Christian leanrning and games of competition with awards. It is held each Sunday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Church. Pastor C. Michael "Mike" Swingle is the new youth pastor and has planned many activities for young people.
2. The children's choir, J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) invites all children from 1st through 12th grade to participate. Ms. Pat Haas is the director and welcomes the children to choir practice from 5 to 6 p.m. on Sunday evenings at the Church. Ms. Pat teaches the children that it is easy and enjoyable to be part of the J.A.M. choir.

Temple B’nai Darom

Passover will be celebrated by Temple B'nai Darom with a seder conducted by Rabbi Harold Jaye on Friday, April 6 at 6 p.m.  The seder will be held at The Elks Club, 702 N.E. 25th Ave., Ocala.  All reservations must be received by March 23.  For reservations and further information please contact Micki Hirsch at 352-624-9563.

St. Jude Catholic Community

The Bereavement Group for those grieving the loss of a loved one will meet on Tuesday,
Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. Meetings are open to anyone in the community with a need to share their feelings of grief. Please call the church office at 352-347-0154 prior to each meeting you plan to attend.
Creole Masses for the Haitians in our community are celebrated every second and fourth Sunday of the month at 5 p.m. The next date is Feb. 26. Every second Sunday, following the Mass, Dr. Myriame Vastey, a family practice physician, presents a program on various medical issues. These meetings are open to everyone.  
Classes for Spanish as a second language continue to be offered every Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
Stations of the Cross will be held every Friday during Lent at 8:30 a.m. in English and at 7 p.m. in Spanish beginning Feb. 24.

Joy Lutheran Church

The Wednesday night Lenten Services theme will be “Dark Nights of the Soul.”  Senior Pastor Edward Holloway Jr. will provide the messages on such topics as Alone in Sin, Lonely, Cold, Breathless, Lost, In Pain, and Alone-Again.  A Soup Supper will precede the Wednesday night Lenten services at 5:30 p.m.
The theme for the Sunday services in Lent (8:15 and 11 a.m.) will be “A Journey from Fear to Love.”  Pastor Holloway’s messages will be on Fear of the World, Fear of My Own Way, Fear of God, Fear of the Holy Spirit and Fear of Light.
