Open registration at Beth Israel school
Congregation Beth Israel of Ocala announces open registration of its religious school, Congregation Beth Israel School of Jewish Education. The school currently meets once a week on Sunday mornings at various places in the community. The curriculum consists of Jewish life cycle and history, Hebrew, Bible, holidays and traditions as well as courses on Israel and pre-bar and bat mitzvah and confirmation classes. The school caters to the individual needs of the students and parent participation is encouraged. The staff consists of caring, experienced teachers. Suzanne Boetger is Educational Director. St. Jude Catholic Community
The Bereavement Group for those grieving the loss of a loved one will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. Meetings are open to anyone in the community with a need to share their feelings of grief. Please call the church office at 352-347-0154 prior to each meeting you plan to attend.
The LifeLong Learning Religious Education Program classes will resume during Aug.
Sunday classes begin Aug. 21 and Wednesday Sacramental classes on Aug. 24. Parents are reminded that there is a mandatory Orientation Meeting on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. until noon. Registrations, at a reduced tuition rate, for the 2011-12 school year are currently being accepted.
Creole Masses for the Haitians in our community are celebrated every second and fourth Sunday of the month at 5 p.m. The next dates are Aug. 14 and Aug. 28.
Classes for Spanish as a second language are in recess for the summer.

Temple B’nai Darom
High Holy Days are fast approaching. Temple B’nai Darom, a traditional reformed temple, and our spiritual leader for more than 25 years, Rabbi Harold Jaye, would like to invite you to celebrate the holidays with us.
Rosh Hashanah services are Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m., Thursday Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. and Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. (Sabbath of Repentance).
Yom Kippur, Friday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m.
Tickets for non-members are $60 per person. Tickets are included for members.
