Countryside Presbyterian
The public is invited to participate in Reformation Sunday on Oct. 27 at the 10:30 a.m. service at Countryside Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), 7768 S.W. Highway 200, Ocala. Besides remembering the beginning of the Reformed Church by Martin Luther in 1517 as well as its Scottish heritage, Countryside is celebrating its 25th anniversary year and its eighth full year of ministry in its new sanctuary.
We will begin with the kirking of tartans lead by the lone piper, Naomi McLain. Special music including “How Great Thou Art/Majesty by arrangers Joel Raney and Jack Hayford will be supplied by the Chancel Choir. Bettie Jane Porterfield and Jo Ann Shaw will be playing piano duets for the prelude and offertory. The piper will play “Scotland the Brave” for the Recessional. The congregation is asked to wear red!

Southwest Christian Church
Sunday, Oct. 13: Sunday School classes for children, youth, and adults meet at 9:30 a.m. and Worship Service begins at 10:30 a.m. with staffed nursery and children’s classes available.
On Sunday, Oct. 13, Minister Peter Bunch and wife Penny will be enjoying a well deserved vacation in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the Gaither Homecoming Celebration. Filling the pulpit for Minister Bunch will be Conard Chambers, retired minister and SWCC member.
Tuesday, Oct. 15: Christian Women’s Fellowship meets at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Each meeting includes a short business meeting followed by Bible Study and luncheon together. If you choose to stay for the luncheon, bring your own sack lunch. You do not have to be a member of SWCC to attend.
Wednesday, Oct. 16: Adult Bible Study in the Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m. and Youth activities beginning at 7 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 25: Golden Servants (Seniors 55+) meet at 6 p.m. at the church for a carry-in dinner with a program following dinner. Bring your favorite dish. Public is invited.

Celebrating Jesus workshop
A “celebrating Jesus workshop: will take place every Tuesday through Nov. 19.
The community is invited to register for these free workshops, put on by Side by Side Ministries, Inc., at www.sbsministries.org/cjw.

St. Jude Catholic
The Bereavement Group for those grieving the loss of a loved one will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 22. Meetings are open to anyone in the community with a need to share their feelings of grief. If you plan to attend, please call the church office at 352-347-0154 prior to the meetings.
Creole Masses for the Haitians in our community are celebrated every second and fourth Sunday of the month at 5 p.m. The next dates are Oct. 13 and Oct. 27.
The LifeLong Religious Education classes are now in session. Sunday classes are at 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Wednesday sacramental classes are held at 5:30 p.m.
Anthony’s Attic, our venue for used items, continues to be open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m.
The feast of our patron saint, St. Jude, will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 28, with a special Mass at 6 p.m. A Haitian soup reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
We look forward to Nov. 17 when Maestro Bill Doherty and members of the Central Florida Lyric Opera will be with us again for an enjoyable evening of beautiful music from Broadway, Opera as well as other favorites. Tickets are still $10 per person.
