Martha Reeves to perform

Martha (Reeves) and the Vandellas were among the most successful groups of the Motown roster during the period 1963-1967. In contrast to other Motown groups such as The Supremes and The Marvelettes, Martha and the Vandellas were known for a harder R&B sound, typified by "(Love Is Like a) Heat Wave," "Nowhere to Run," "Jimmy Mack" and their signature song, "Dancing in the Street."

In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Martha and the Vandellas No. 96 on their list of the 100 greatest artists of all time. Miss Martha Reeves’ performances in 2010 garnered nominations for “Best Headliner” and “Feel Good Performer of the Summer” at the UK Festival Awards.

Enjoy an evening of high energy, dance-in-the-aisle entertainment with Miss Martha Reeves Saturday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at the Circle Square Cultural Center, 8395 S.W. 80th St., Ocala. For more information visit: www.CSCulturalCenter.com, or call 352-854-3670.
