Trim the tree and join the Christmas parade

-A A +A
By Fiona Blair

Hello readers: Christmastime is upon us and we are busy getting ready. Wonderful aromas waft through the house as cookies and cakes bake in the oven. Cast your worries away and delve into the true meaning of Christmas. Isn’t it wonderful that we can share the time with beloved family and friends even those who are far away?

It’s getting to look a lot like Christmas at the Oasis. Come join in and help trim the tree on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. So that the correct number of guests are accounted for, a ticket purchase of $1 will be required, which will provide entertainment, refreshments and the fun of fellowship.

Bring your kazoo, if you have one, and join in with the “Kazoo Band” and make music together. If you have an ornament that you would like to donate it would be very much appreciated.

If you need more information, call Roger Demary whose number is in the Palm Cay directory. Let’s have some fun getting into the Christmas mood together.

Christmas Parade

Yes … mark your calendar for Thursday, Dec. 11, at 5:45 p.m. You won’t want to miss the Palm Cay Christmas Parade as it passes by your home.

Better yet, join us as we light up the Palm Cay roads with the “Lights of Christmas” this joyous season. “Lights of Christmas” is the theme for our parade.

As the parade passes by, we will also enjoy viewing many of the homes that are decorated in the spirit of the season. So fix up that golf cart… that old bike… or anything on wheels and join the community parade.

Harry Chambers, parade chairman.

Alter Egos

Christmas Show

It’s time for the Alter Egos to take center stage with their production of “Christmas Dreams and Wishes” on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. The Oasis will be filled with the Christmas spirit. For a $2 donation it is yours to enjoy.

Refreshments will be served. Win a $50 gift certificate to Carraba’s Italian Grill.

It is rumored that Santa will pay a visit and bring surprises for the good boys and girls. Call John Kalinas for tickets.

Christmas Dinner

We hope you have tickets for the PCHA Board and Heritage Management traditional Christmas dinner with turkey and all the trimmings. There will be two sittings, at 1:30 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. in the Oasis.

We congratulate all the residents who celebrated birthdays and anniversaries in November. Best wishes to all.

Take care, readers, and enjoy the time preparing for this lovely season of the year.

“It is good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it’s good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure you haven’t lost the things that money can’t buy.” George Horace Lorimer.

Till next time …

There is box in the library at the Oasis for residents to place their newsy tidbits, group activity information, travels, etc. Fiona Blair is listed in the Palm Cay directory or e-mail to fiona-blair@hotmail.com.
