A traditional Memorial Day celebration and picnic will hosted by the Cherrywood Veterans Club on its proper day: Friday, May 30 at the Clubhouse from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Remember those who died for their country.

For tickets, $7 per person, call Nancy Archer at 861-1432.

Breakfast Talk

Tomorrow we will serve French toast, ham and sausage, fruit cup, orange juice and coffee or tea on May 17, from 8 to 9:15 a.m.

When you purchase your tickets, indicate white or cinnamon bread. Get tickets from Geri at the Clubhouse or Nancy at Bingo. Bring breakfast cards punched seven times to Geri and she will give you a free ticket for the next breakfast.

Democratic Club

Pat Gabriel, president of the S.R. 200 Coalition, will address the Cherrywood Democrats on May 16. She will update us on development plans on the horizon. Refreshments will be served.

Major Corridor concerns include growth spurred by four-laning of S.W. 60th Avenue, 95th Street, the coming “bridge” over I-75 to 475 A, JB Ranch is building with the opening of 95th Street Road, increasing traffic on S.R. 200 near all the new shopping outlets in the Heath Brook area. And Pat will take questions from the audience.

Voter registration cards are available. If you are not registered or wish to change party affiliation, we can make changes. Support our Soldiers Committee to show our appreciation for their dedication.

The Cherrywood Democratic Club meets monthly on the third Friday at 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse card room. For more information, call Harriet Scarpino at 873-9955.
