Social Committee planning events

By Ann Brennan

YAY! We’re back and raring to go! There is so much happening in our little community we can hardly keep up. New activities have been added, a new board has been elected, and things are moving right along!

Social News
The Social Committee has been very busy planning new events. On Feb. 10, Jamie Webb will be having a dance show at 2 p.m. Admission is $2 at the door. It will involve young people dancing and performing.
On Feb. 16, we will be having our Sweetheart Ball, for friends and partners. The music will be provided by Solid Gold - Al Sutphen. This dance will be BYOB -Donation 50/50, serving coffee and dessert. It’s $5 at the door. Bring your sweetie or a friend! A series of new events have been planned for the future, so please keep your eyes on the Citizen for new times and dates for fun and entertainment!

Pancake Breakfast
The Last Saturday Breakfast for February will be on Feb. 23 at 9 a.m. Tickets will be on sale Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Clubhouse for $3 each. Marge Simard will also be selling tickets at 352-873-9853. The menu for the February meal is egg sausage casserole, melon slice, orange juice and coffee or tea. It will be delicious!!!

Bowling on the Spruce Creek North Fun League is a blast! We thrive on friendly competition, lunching after the three games, and cheering on our partners and foes.
The League starts at 9 a.m., and goes until just before noon. Lots of people go out for lunch after the mixer is over! Just be ready to cheer the bowlers on, and have a wonderful time doing it!!

Line Dancing
Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., there is line dancing at the Clubhouse. Not only does line dancing provide good exercise, it also helps the brain by forcing it to remember the various steps required to dance. It also improves balance.
Guys, it’s not just for women! There are plenty of fellas that want the exercise, or to hook up with an active gal! Plus its so much fun, we develop lasting friendships and meet new acquaintances!!
