Marion County Public Schools and Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn join efforts to present three events designed to remember the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust and Nazi persecution.

These “Days of Remembrance” events coincide with the country’s annual commemoration established by Congress and held in Washington, DC.

This year’s local events include:

Sunday, April 23 – Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony, West Port High School, 5 to 7 p.m.

Includes presentation by Ocala writer Debbie Callahan and Holocaust survivor David Bergman;

Monday, April 24 – Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, The Villages, 4 p.m.

Tuesday, April 25 – “Holocaust Cantata” presented by the Marion Civic Chorale and guest presenter Holocaust survivor Harry Heuman with the Florida Holocaust Museum, Reilly Arts Center, Ocala, 6 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public.
