Re-election possible for Blair

He'll be on ballot if he qualifies in July

By Jim Clark
When election time rolls around on Aug. 30, suspended Marion County Sheriff Chris Blair could still be on the ballot, and could still be elected.
Supervisor of Elections Wesley Wilcox, at the Memorial Day event at Veterans Park, was asked if Blair could be elected, and answered simply “yes.”
As of Wednesday, Blair is still listed as “active, prefiled” on the elections website.
He would have to qualify in July to get on the primary ballot in August.
He faces two challengers in the Republican primary, Billy Woods and Kerry Crawford. On the Democratic side, Dennis McFatten and former Sheriff Ed Dean are active candidates.
Blair did not respond to an e-mail request for comment.
