Armed robbery

at Hungry Howies

A commercial armed robbery was reported at the Hungry Howies on S.W. 93rd Court Road on April 19.

Purse vanishes

from church

On April 21, a woman had her purse taken from the Church of Jesus Christ on S.R. 200. At approximately 8:30 p.m., she was helping to clean up and sat her purse down for about five minutes, according to a sheriff’s report.

When she went to pick it up, it was gone. Three credit cards, $200 in cash, a checkbook, car keys, cell phone, a license and certificate were inside the handbag.

On April 17, he parked his 2005 Chevrolet Silverado near his home on S.W.79th Place. The following day he went out to run errands and noticed one small BB type dent on the windshield near the driver’s side, according to a sheriff’s report.

He then noticed a second dent on the windshield near the rear view mirror. The damage is estimated at $300.

Ocala man

arrested at Walmart

A loss prevention employee at the Walmart Supercenter noticed three men on April 17 selecting merchandise in the automotive section. The employee watched as one of the men left the store empty-handed, but returned with a jacket and bag.

He returned to the store and retrieved the merchandise he had left with the other customers. The employee saw him put a car charger, circuit tester and repair kit inside the bag, according to a sheriff’s report. The merchandise was valued at $25.37.

After passing all points of sale, the worker confronted the shopper, who attempted to run but was unsuccessful.

John Robert Sondervan, 18, of Ocala, was arrested and charged with petty retail theft and issued a trespass warning from the store. He was taken to the Marion County Jail.
