Two charged

with theft at Bealls

On April 5, a loss prevention employee at the Bealls department store noticed two customers hide merchandise and leave the store without paying, according to a sheriff’s report.

They were stopped in the parking lot and taken into the loss prevention office. Both customers were found with a pair of shorts and a shirt, which were valued at approximately $150.

A black Nissan was searched and a pair of shorts, T-shirt and bikini valued at $55 from the Bealls Outlet store on S.R. 200 was found inside.

Amanda Dawn Cheek, 21, of Homosassa, was charged with two counts of petty retail theft and Brad A. Caruso, 27, of Homosassa, was charged with petty retail theft. They were taken to the Marion County Jail.

Insurance card, registration stolen from truck

On April 4, a patron left the Our Place Saloon on S.R. 200 and noticed broken glass on the ground near his 2003 Nissan Frontier, according to a sheriff’s report. The passenger side rear window was broken out and his insurance and registration form, which were locked inside the glove box, were missing.

Washer stolen from

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on April 3, a Wachovia Bank customer entered the bank on S.R. 200 to cash a check. About 10 minutes later, he returned to his 1988 Chevrolet truck and discovered his tailgate was down and one of his Bridgette pressure washers was gone, according to a sheriff’s report. The washer was valued at $450.
