Food drive was a success

By Carol Beaver

The recent Palm Cay food drive was a success, according to Russ Hoyt, one of the chairpersons of the event. They collected more than 1,500 pounds of food and delivered it to Interfaith from our community. This will feed a lot of families in need. The food was collected by Russ and Julie Hoyt, and Roger and Janet Demary. Bill Wood also helped in the collection and used his time and trailer to deliver the food.

The chairpersons thank our residents for their generosity in helping to make this food drive a great success.

Pet food donations

Haroldeen Bradley is collecting pet food donations at her home in Palm Cay. This is for the pets of people who receive “Meals on Wheels.” They often share their own food with their pets when they can’t afford pet food.

Cat and dog food, snacks, and pet treats are all welcome. Haroldeen will deliver it to the Senior Center when a few bags accumulate. Cat litter is also welcome.

Please call Haroldeen with any questions.

Your gifts for the “Biggest Little Tree” must be placed under the tree by Dec. 7. Just pack your gift in a bag, close it, and attach the WHOLE Drummer Boy or girl tag to the outside of the bad. Your gifts will be delivered to the Salvation Army in time for Christmas distribution.

Thank you for your generosity to the children of our area.

Trim a Tree

Our Trim a Tree event will take place this coming Sunday, the 5th beginning at 7 p.m. We will decorate our tree for Christmas, sing carols and enjoy delicious treats. It is a community event of fellowship and begins our Christmas celebrations.
