By Eloise Hollyfield

New learning opportunities and softball mark this week’s OTOW Happenings.

Master the Possibilities

Master the Possibilities Center for Lifelong Learning will be releasing its Summer Catalog on May 16. You can pick one up at the Center (8415 S.W. 80th St.) or at Freedom Library. It is also available online at masterthepossibilities.com. Registration will open on May 16 for over 250 classes, lectures, presentations, films, and discussion groups. All of these are open to the public. The Center will offer over 1000 opportunities throughout this year.
Take advantage of all that is available at the remarkable Master the Possibilities Center for Lifelong Learning! To register, stop by, use the telephone registration line (854-3699) or go to the website listed above. Master the Possibilities is a very “cool” alternative during a hot summer!

Softball League
It’s been an exciting season with unexpected results. Over a month ago, the Great Clips Team seemed to have it all wrapped up with a five-game lead over their closest rival. Things began happening and losses started piling up and their lead dropped to one game. They still had a chance to hold on, but they just couldn’t seem to get that big push from the players. The lead dwindled so much that they found themselves in second place with six games to go. Luck seemed to turn around for them, as the Florida Eye team who had jumped into first place by two games, started to have difficulty winning games. Last week, with two games to go, The Great Clips Team began their fight to the top. Thanks to other teams, Florida Eye began losing its lead.
Now with one game to go, the Florida Eye and Great Clips teams are tied for first place. This Monday will be the deciding game, and the winner will be the OTOW Softball League Champs. Not far behind was the Dr. Dunn team which hit some rough spots and couldn’t get closer than two games from the top .In fourth place, we had the Cebert Wealth team which had a terrible start at the beginning of the league season and were in last place for quite a while until they started putting some wins together and ended up only four games out of first place. The surprising team was the Tee Pee Tire Team, which with their young players, were expected to end up on the top of the league. Somehow, they just couldn’t get it together and ended up tied for the basement with the Wise Way Team, which also just couldn’t muster up the wins.
