Lions Club plans Italian dinner

By Eloise Hollyfield

Fundraising event, entertainment, and changes in the OTOW Bowling League highlight this week’s OTOW Happenings.

OTOW Lions Club
On Sunday, Jan. 29, the OTOW Lions Club will offer an Italian Dinner fundraising event. This is not your typical fundraising event. This is a guaranteed fun-filled, feel-good experience, and 100 percent of the funds raised go to Interfaith and to the Children’s Backpack Program. Join us for an enjoyable time and superior food.
The event will take place at the Health and Recreation Building in the Ballroom at 4 p.m.
The meal will be catered by Sammy’s Restaurant, and entertainment will be provided by George and Judy, Karaoke, and more. Additionally, a TV will be raffled.
Tickets are $12 per person and are on sale in the H & R Ballroom on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. except Dec. 14. For more information, contact Dawn at 352-854-8314, Virginia at 352-414-1696, or Sara at 352-465-8291. You don’t want to miss this wonderful event!
For those who would like to consider becoming part of this exciting service group, please contact Lion Estelle Clark at 352-861-7358 or via e-mail at pdgestelle@yahoo.com.

Travel Toppers
Linda Hein is taking reservations for a brand new 25th Anniversary production of Les Miserables. This fantastic play will be at the Starz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Victor Hugo’s classic novel is an epic story about the survival of the human spirit. Thrill to the songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On my Own,” “Bring Him Home,” and “Stars.” A reservation for the trip would make a wonderful holiday Gift. Call Linda between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

OTOW Bowling League
The OTOW Bowling League has changed its by-laws to permit membership by Stone Creek Residents as well as the On Top of the World residents. Additionally, an entire team (four bowlers) has been lost and needs to be replaced. Substitute bowlers in general are also needed.
