Make plans to attend the Safety Fair on May 2 at the McPherson government complex at the intersection of S.E. 25th Ave. and Ft. King.

It is the first annual Safety Fair sponsored by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Foundation.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.

Come learn about various safety topics to include: boating safety, pool safety, car seat safety, home security safety and much more. We will also offer kinder prints and clowns providing face painting for the kids of all ages.

Proceeds from the food and refreshment sales will benefit the Sheriff’s Foundation, which helps support the volunteer groups that assist the Sheriff’s Department in many areas, including crime watch and community patrol groups.

Capt. Jim Burton is the commander of the Sheriff’s Southwest District office, 9048 S. W. Hwy. 200. For more information, call 402-6060.
