Members should come prepared to discuss what they prefer and what they do not prefer in future club programs.
Our goal is to have a format that is interesting and educational for Oak Run amateur photographers of all skill levels, especially those who wish to improve and or share their skills. We need to know what you want from the club and what you are willing to do for the club.
Also, we need to know what kind of pizza you like! In June the club will provide pizza for us to enjoy as we review our best photos of the year. In order to know what to order, we need to know your preferences.
There will be a sign up sheet at the door as you sign in so you can let us know what to order.

George will provide music that should keep you on the dance floor ‘til your feet give out. Save some energy for our famous “4 Corners Dance Contest”. Of course, there will be door prizes and 50/50 (80/20) drawings will take place later in the evening.

Royal Oaks Women’s 18 Hole Golf
On Tuesday, May 1, we played “Low Net.” The winners were: First Flight - 1st place, Elsa Berbig, 2nd place, Kerry Tims, 3rd place, Bea Terry; Second Flight - 1st place, Sheila Adams, 2nd place, Joan O’Brien, 3rd place, Barb Scozzafava; Third Flight - 1st place, Ginger Drake, 2nd place, Donna Gwin, 3rd place, Inge Szabo. Sheila Adams was “Closest to the Pin.”. The beautiful spring weather continues and we do not hear any complaints!!

Royal Oaks Lady Niners
On May 3 the “Niners” changed to the back nine and played two best balls with a two man team. The winning team was Sally Crass, Joyce Madill, Ilene Simnowitz, and BJ Lassiter.
Closest to pin on hole #16 was Bette Johnson. Chip-ins on hole #12 was Pat Salberg and on hole #17 was BJ Lassiter.

Royal Oaks Men’s Golf
On May 4 we played a “new game” called Shambles. All members of a team drive, and the longest drive is selected. From that point each individual plays their own ball the rest of the way. The scoring is the usual three best net. However, there must be some long ball hitters out there, as the scores were low! The winners with a 174 (honest) were Ron Kowalewski, Bill Ellin, Paul Colatruglio, and Paul Valois. Second with a 179 were Ron Tennant, Gene Topp, George Gariepy, and John Foutty. Third with a 180 were Ron Catapano, Sam Owens, Don Aubrey, and Joe Paller. Closest to the pin were Ron Kowalewski, Emmett Dowling, John Foutty, and Mike Madill. We had 42 players this day, and all seemed to enjoy the change from the usual game. Good to mix it up once in a while. Don’t forget to sign up for the Low Net Championship on May 16 and May 18.

Carol Ann’s Corner
Mr. Cody and I have a large number of different activities planned for the next few months with many changes in our schedule.
As a result, I’m not sure that I will be able to take handwritten or typed submissions, or pictures, for the column from my cubby in a timely manner. There is also the possibility that at times messages left on my answering machine may not be picked up as soon as you would like. Therefore, from now until I notify you otherwise, please do not put anything for the column in my cubby or leave me messages. Continue to send articles and pictures to democratcarol@deccacable.com. However, anything that you cannot send via e-mail should be taken to the Citizen office in Kingsland Plaza opposite Pine Run. Indicate on these submissions that they have not been sent to me and be sure to identify all persons in photographs.
