Homeowner's Association celebrates at Dec. 13 meeting

By Laura Smth

Dear readers, I prepared a turkey dinner for the first time in several years. I did the main part and guest brought all the sides. We have some great cooks here in Oak Run. Everyone had a good time and I am happy to say none of the men cared about watching football. I think NFL has done a real favor to some of us wives. All our guests gave thanks for the life they are living in Oak Run. Yeah!
ORHA is celebrating the holiday with a special program and treats at the General Meeting. See following article. Travel is going to the play “The Phantom of the Opera” and I would love to go but since I have seen it four times, and there are only couple tickets left, I better leave it for those that never the opportunity. Our family is coming for Christmas and Sunday we bought a fresh tree. Our children think that is the only kind of tree you put up. We have gone to their house for many years and suddenly they are coming here. If you are going by, please stop and help decorate our tree.
There are some fun sounding neighborhood parties. We have again been invited to Laurel Oaks I see Santa is stopping at the OMI party. Should we send our lists to OMI President to be presented to Santa? Of course, only if you have been good. One of my readers, Carl Raphael, emailed date of the golf cart parade and it is Wed. Dec 20. I am waiting for the 8-foot reindeer to go up in Golfview, perhaps with some other Christmas characters. Be sure to check ticket sale dates for the various events. Watch for all the decorations to go up in the clubs. For some I know the holiday season is hard. Some of us might not have “Ho ho” holiday times to remember but why not grab on to some of the spirit and make your own joy.  Now I leave you with this: “Just because a person smiles all the time, doesn’t mean their life is perfect. That smile could be a symbol of hope and strength.” unknown. Peace and joy, Laura

Ticket sales again on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. In the Orchid Club Lobby.  Cost is $20 for members and $22 for guests.  We will also be collecting membership dues ($6 per person) for 2018.  If you are not a member, then come as our guest and don’t miss this opportunity to see Santa and Mrs. Claus in person and have a fun filled evening with your friends and neighbors.  We hope you will join us as we celebrity the holiday season, and remember you don’t have to be from Ohio, Michigan or Indiana to join The Fun Club.
