All of Oak Run invited to Photography Club

By Carol Ann Wheeler

Bruce Mozert, inventor of the underwater camera housing and photographer of all the major swimming stars of the 1930s and 1940s for MGM and other studios, will be our speaker at the next Photography Club meeting. Mozert is 94 years old and still works in his studio near Silver Springs five day per week. He sells hand colored prints from those old negatives. He can tell us how he produced “smoke” and “champagne bubbles” under water! He can explain how he produced color prints before color film existed. This will be a fascinating program which will be of interest to almost everyone. All Oak Run residents are invited to this program at the Orchid Club on Monday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. We are sorry, but we have to restrict this program to Oak Run residents only.
You can read Mr. Mozert’s biography and see some of his photos at http://www.divephotoguide.com/user/brucemozert/. He currently has photos on Smithsonion.com and in three Florida museums. His work was featured at the Appleton recently.
