A very happy New Year to all from OMI officers and board members. Our Christmas party was a festive and enjoyable event. Brothers Keepers picked up our decorations to be used at their annual Christmas dinner, plus all canned goods. It was appreciated by all who attended.
Last year was a fun year for our club and we have plans for this coming year that we hope you will all enjoy. For our first event we are celebrating Chinese New Year, “The Year of the Dragon,” featuring our very own dragon.
Dinner will be a Chinese buffet, catered by Wok and Roll II with music by Barry R and Nancy J from Tampa. Oriental dress is optional. The event will be held Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the Orchid Club.

This year a whole table will cost $10 and half a table, $5. Please pay by check made out to ORHA, no cash.

Little Theatre
What an exciting evening out Little Theatre’s dinner theatre promises to be. The March 22 dinner theatre will open its doors at the Palm Grove Club at 4:45 p.m. and a gourmet dinner will be served you at 5:15 p.m. The dinner, catered by the Royal Oaks, will consist of prime rib of beef, chicken Marsala, garlic roasted potatoes, a California medley of vegetables, tossed salad, rolls, butter, strawberry cheese cake, coffee, tea, and soda or bring the beverage of your choice. The show following dinner will start at 7 p.m. For information on the dinner theatre please call Diana Schmidt at 352-873-7243, and for the other three performances call Linda Noel at 353-873-9908.
Rounding out the cast will be another seasoned actress, Arline Raguso, in the role of Mrs. Stancliffe. She is the owner of the Rose Cottage Bed and Breakfast, an efficient, competent inn keeper, intolerant of “Bud The Stud’s” hanky-panky with her guests, but she reluctantly agrees that he is good for business. She has been pursued by neighbor Henry Mitchell (Lenny Klatt) for years, refusing to let him into her life until surprising events bring them together. This is an extremely funny show which you will not want to miss and as a friendly reminder, get your reserved seats early for the best seating, they go fast!

This is your last chance to get on Paul and Emily Pike’s trip to Ed Fletcher’s Dinner Theatre to see “Lie, Cheat and Genuflect” on Sunday, Jan. 15. The show is about two brothers, one of whom has a gambling problem. He has borrowed money from loan shark Pizza Face Petrillo, who now wants his money back, or else! A funny, funny show.
The Florida State Fair runs for 11 days and on Thursday, Feb. 16, the Flickingers will host a trip to the fair. You will pay your own entrance to the fair so that you will be able to purchase any additional attractions you desire. Besides the rides and exhibits, other venues at the fair include the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center which hosts horse races and other equestrian events, Cracker Country, which demonstrates life in frontier Florida, and exhibitions from most counties in Florida, plus various agricultural and other state organizations at the large Expo hall.
