Man jumps store counter, grabs pills

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is trying to identify and locate a suspect who jumped a counter to snatch nearly 800 pills during a grand theft.
Around 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, a white male, about 6-feet 2 inches tall and weighting about 250 pounds, entered the CVS pharmacy, 10255 S.W. 86th Circle, Ocala (along State Road 200 at the intersection of 103rd Street Road) and jumped the rear pharmacy counter. He grabbed two large bottles of hydrocodone and fled on foot across S.R. 200 and ran southwesterly down 103rd Street Road.
He was hiding his face with a white cloth (bandana). He jumped the counter again and left through the fire exit.

DUI cases
Two men were accused of DUI in recent incidents along State Road 200.
On Nov. 15, Brian John Kielty, 42, of Southwest 73rd Street, was stopped for failing to stay in a single line along the highway in the 5000 block.
According to the report, Kielty said he had “five or six beers” at a local bar. After he allegedly failed the field sobriety test, he was taken to jail and refused to provide a sample of his breath. A computer check showed he had three prior DUI arrests.
On Nov. 12, Robert Marvin Melton, 64, of Southwest 104th Lane, was accused of DUI.
A deputy reported he saw Melton’s vehicle leave the parking lot at the convenience store at S.R. 200 and 103rd Street Road at about 9:50 p.m. and travel west on 200 in the eastbound lanes. He then allegedly crossed the grass median into the westbound lanes and then turned right into Pine Run. The deputy caught the car after it had turned west onto Southwest 104th Lane.
His breath registered .179 and .182 alcohol, which are well above the legal limit of .08.

Drug arrests
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement  Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Palatka Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Tri-County Narcotics Task Force arrested three men after an intensive two-month joint investigation. During the Putnam and Marion County portions of this operation, agents seized three  kilograms of cocaine, two firearms and $69,167 in cash. Wesley Dallas of Palatka, and Milton Webb of Palatka were both charged with trafficking in cocaine (over 400 grams) and Curtis Evans of Ocala was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted Felon.
