Marijuana grow operation found in house with children

A Southwest Ocala couple was accused of cultivating marijuana in a house on 60th Avenue..

Arrested were David Tracy Richmond, 53, of 6401 S.W. 60th Ave., and Patricia Ellen Richmond, 43, of the same address were jailed by deputies on April 6. David was accused of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Patricia was accused of tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the report, the Florida Department of Children and Families had received an anonymous complaint that marijuana was being grown in the home where two small children were living. The DCF investigator went to the house and discovered a marijuana grow operation set up in the master bedroom shower stall.

Deputies were called and went to the house, and found the marijuana after getting permission to search the house. The report says the officers found three small marijuana plants, three plastic bags containing marijuana, two marijuana pipes, a high pressure sodium lamp, an air pump that was being used to circulate the water and a mirror film on the shower stall walls.

The two children, ages 10 and 5, were turned over to a relative.

In other incidents:

A 19-year-old Ocala man was arrested for retail petit theft after an incident at Walmart. Anthony Neal Frye, of Southwest 38th Avenue, after allegedly taking a ring pool and an Ipod electronics accessory worth $278.

A 39-year-old Ocala man was arrested for DUI. According to the report, Louis Nelson Peters IV, of Southwest 70th Loop, who was stopped because a family member had asked officials to find him. At the jail, his alcohol levels were .204 and .201.
