-A A +A

I don’t know about the rest of you but I am sick and tired of driving home from work day after day and seeing the same panhandlers camped out on the median at State Road 200 and Southwest 60th Avenue (Airport Road).
In a town this large there have to be plenty of places you can go to if your need help getting back on your feet. Of course they probably expect you to make a genuine effort to find a job and take responsibility for yourself and your family.
Why would you do that when you can stand on the median day after day and pocket the cash tax free?
My husband and I both work hard every day and pay our taxes like every good citizen should.
I can’t tell you how discouraging it is to see the same people out there day after day mooching off the taxpayers. Not only are they a nuisance, they are also a hazard. I wish the driving public would wise up and stop supporting this kind of behavior!
If you can stand on the median for hours on end you can stand behind the counter at McDonald’s or one of the other fast food restaurants or at a cash register at one of the Dollar stores and earn your money and pay your taxes!

High energy cost is his goal
It now appears we woke up to the reality of high gas prices. Huge increases in all energy bills were planned for and spoken of by President Obama. It seems his supporters have forgotten his energy goals that included having our cost “skyrocket” and that is the precise term he publicly used. I can’t believe this doesn’t upset you regardless of political party. Obama wants these high prices and this is an undeniable fact! Nothing destroys our standard of living more or quicker than the cost of energy, especially those of us in the middle.
He is so committed to being our “green” president that he detests our dependence on oil, gas and coal, preferring more expensive alternatives. He makes fun of the slogan, Drill Baby Drill, and this in itself shows the utter disrespect and distain he holds for our American standard of living and his desire to bring us to the European level, including their fuel prices. The new slogan may someday be, “A Windmill in Every Back Yard.”
If we had real news reporters, they would bring up the above whenever they have access to questioning him on this subject. If we would go after the above natural resources our prices would begin dropping in the very near future as would our dependence on Middle East oil. Open up the pipe lines and never be dependent on our enemy. We need to send the EPA packing, getting them get out of our way, quit worrying about man made global warming and use our God-given resources right here in America.
Some readers will disagree with the above, but you can’t argue with facts! If you still support this president, look closely at his views of who we are and what we should be, including his understanding of our heritage, and never complain about gas prices. Remember he has told the world that we are not a Christian nation. You really believe he is Proud To Be An American?
Despite all of our problems, this is still the greatest country in the world and we need to stand up and insist we stay that way. May God always come first in our lives and we remember how he has blessed us.
