Helping hands gets $5,000 grant

Helping Hands of Ocala has been awarded a grant of $5,000 from Winn Dixie’s Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation.
“We are very grateful for this generous donation as it is a big boost in helping us rebuild the lives of homeless people”, said Brad Dinkins, Chairman of Helping Hands. He further commented, “This is the largest grant we have ever received from the food industry”.
“Making personal connections with local organizations and giving back to those in need in our communities is the motivating force behind who we are as a company,” said Mary Kellmanson, Bi-Lo Holding’ senior vice president of marketing, and president of the Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation.
“Bi-Lo Holdings is honored to dedicate time, resources and funds to benefit our customers, neighbors, friends and family. We are thankful that we are able to develop and grow partnerships with these organizations and help them improve the lives of our neighbors.”
The Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation has a long tradition of supporting the neighborhoods in which we work and live, and makes grants available to local nonprofit organizations to support programs and initiatives fostering healthy and thriving communities.
Helping Hands provides compassionate care for the poor, and the homeless … by providing a safe place to live in a friendly environment, life skills training, and counseling. They also assist with food, clothes, medical, dental, transportation and jobs. Helping Hands is a charitable 501 (c) (3) serving the people of Ocala/Marion County.
