The next Cherrywood breakfast will be Saturday, Jan. 17, from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Juice, fruit cup, French toast, sausage, coffee and tea is $3 per person.

Larry and the crew still need a few more extra helping hands so we can rotate volunteers each month. For tickets, see Geri at the office or Nancy Archer at Bingo.

Country Western Dance

Come out to the Clubhouse for a fun night of country music and mingle with friends and neighbors. We’re having a country western dance Saturday, Jan. 17, from 7 to 10 p.m. Rich Becotte will present the tunes.

Democratic Club

The Cherrywood Democratic Club will welcome Sheriff Ed Dean to its next meeting Jan. 16. Meet our re-elected sheriff and he will answer your questions about fighting crime in the community.

As a board member of the Salvation Army, Children’s Advocacy Center, Florida Sheriff’s Association, United Way of Marion County, National Cargo Theft Task Force, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Agency, Sheriff’s Youth Ranches, and County Children’s Alliance he will update us on community police work and his goal to continually reduce crime.

We ask that you remember the young people serving our country and make a donation toward their needs through the Support Our Soldiers committee.

We’re having a Shingles Clinic at the Clubhouse on Friday, Feb. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. To get your name on the list, call Geri Watrouse at 237-1675.

Cherrywood Bingo

We have new games and bigger prizes at Cherrywood bingo. Get to know your neighbors and have a Thursday night filled with fun from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clubhouse.

Get there early. Jackpot goes off every week, no more waiting. Jackpots start at $100. Cost to play is $6 each week.

Travel Club

There are a lot of new day trips, and a few overnighters, to choose from this year. Fliers for all trips are in the Clubhouse. Get your name in the Travel Club book if you want to go.

If you want to book or confirm a trip, call Nancy at 861-1432. Remember, you do not need to live in Cherrywood to go on our trips.

As promised, here it is. We have gaming cruise aboard the Vegas on Monday, Jan. 26. Cost is $8 per person. Includes bus, buffet lunch, and driver tip. Must be 21 and have ID.

We’ll be Dancing With the Stars at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m. Cost, $159, includes bus, show, buffet dinner, beer, wine, and soft drinks.

Riverdance comes to Ruth Eckerd Hall on Saturday, Jan. 24. Cost, $117, includes bus, dinner at Sam Seltzer’s, show, taxes and tips.

The Limelight Theatre in St. Augustine presents Man of La Mancha on Sunday, Feb. 1. Cost, $72, includes bus, lunch at Le Pavillion, show, taxes and tips.
