Cloud 9 suspect arrested

On Monday, Sept. 21, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Special Investigations arrested and charged Laquan Ria’Mel Barrow 24, with second degree murder in the death of Benetria Robinson and attempted second degree murder.
Barrow was located at 5465 SE 30th Place in Ocala on Monday morning and was brought into custody by multiple members of MCSO’s Crime Suppression Division along with the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force.
He is being held without bond.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, the Marion County Public Safety
Communications Center received a call for service at the Cloud 9 Club located at 1910 South Pine Ave. in Ocala in regards to a shooting. MCSO deputies and Ocala Police Department officers responded to the scene and discovered six individuals with gunshot injuries in the parking lot of the club. Robinson, 19, was pronounced dead on scene and the other five individuals were transported to local hospitals.
Barrow has already retained an attorney and did not provide any further statements to detectives after he was arrested. Barrow is currently being held at the Marion County Jail with no bond and this investigation is on-going.
