Tickets available for New Year's Eve party

By Nancy Archer

Cherrywood is busier than ever with so much to do. There have been a lot of changes outside and inside of our beautiful Clubhouse. We still have tickets for the New Year’s Eve Party so stop by and get your tickets from Geri and reserve your table. We have Rainbow Connection entertaining us that evening.

Accordion Club
This club meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month. This month’s meeting will be on Dec. 28 from 5:30 to 9 p.m., so come out to listen to the music and maybe dance also. Call Dick Richards at 352-208-5245.

Democratic Club
The meeting is Friday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse card room.
It is that time of year again and we will be having our annual Christmas Party for all Cherrywood Democratic Club members and their spouses or significant others. Our special guests will be former County Commissioner Barbara Fitos; Pat Gabriel, the current president of the State Road 200 Coalition, and Dr. Diana Stafford Greene, who is a candidate for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
The officers and members of the club would like to wish all our friends and neighbors Good Health, Happy Chanukah and a very happy Christmas and a happy new year.

A Very Special Thank You
I would like to take this opportunity to thank a very special Cherrywood resident who has taken her time to help Devereux Kids. Helene Boehler has knitted more then 25 sweaters for those children and also has bought shoes, socks, and many kinds of clothing to help the Devereux Kids Program. I know that she does not want any recognition, but I feel that she deserves it. Be sure to tell her thank you when you see her. If anyone is interested in helping this foundation you can find more information on their website at www.devereuxkids.org.

Exercise Classes
We have a new Exercise Instructor, Debra Rivera; during her Monday night class she will be doing Tai Chi.
All of her classes are open to any Cherrywood resident, male or female, who is interested in exercise classes.
See Geri for the dates.
I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year. I will be taking a couple of weeks off because I will be going into the hospital for surgery. As soon as I get better I will be back to writing for the Citizen.
My daughter Christine will be writing the Citizen articles until I get back on my feet. Keep reading and any new things please get them to us on Thursday at my e-mail address bluejay10453@live.com.
