The College of Central Florida has unveiled its 2011-2012 Performing Arts Series, which features music, dance and more.

“I’m personally excited about the high quality of these performances. Most of these shows will come to us from an off-Broadway run or fresh off a national tour,” said Jennifer Fryns, director of Visual and Performing Arts at CF.

CF will host Olympia Dukakis in “Rose” Saturday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. Both events will be held in the Fine Arts Auditorium at the Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. A ticketed meet and greet with Dukakis will follow the Sept. 24 performance.

In October, CF will host “Simply Sinatra” with Steve Lippia. The performance will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. at Curtis Peterson Auditorium, 3810 N. Educational Path, Lecanto.

CF will host “It’s a Wonderful Life” on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. at the Citrus location and Monday, Dec. 5, and Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ocala Campus.

“Cooking with the Calamari Sisters” will be held Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at 3 p.m. at the Citrus location and Monday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ocala Campus.

CF will host Ballet Folklorico “Quetzalli de Veracruz” Sunday, April 15, at 3 p.m. at the Citrus location and Monday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ocala Campus.

“I believe audiences will be especially moved and inspired by Olympia Dukakis and purely entertained by the sights and sounds of the rest of these very talented artists,” Fryns said. “We set out to help the audience customize their performing arts experience this year, right down to the way they purchase tickets. The lineup not only offers a great deal of flexibility in selecting artists, dates and locations, but patrons can either call the CF Box Office and get personal service or they can log on to the website and take their time to browse the lineup before buying tickets.”

Season tickets include four performances and are $107 for Ocala and $96 for Lecanto. Single tickets are $26 to $40 depending upon performance and location. For information and tickets, call 352-873-5810 or 352-746-6721, ext. 1416. To purchase tickets online, visit tickets.CF.edu.
