The Spruce Creek Preserve “Open to the Public” Yard Sale on S. R. 200, three miles SW of C.R. 484 is slated for Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Community Center parking lot.

Our Preserve Yard Sale space rental procedure proved very successful, indicating that many enthusiastic Preservists are planning to participate in this popular yearly event.

This much looked-forward-to sale will feature an interesting variety of quality merchandise, seldom, if ever, seen at similar sales. It’s going to be a Whopper! So set your clock and have your comfy shoes ready for a quick start. We don’t want you to miss a single bargain.

From Koebbe’s Kitchen:

Greek Salad (one of many)

2 tbsp wine vinegar

1 tbsp water

1 ½ tbsps light olive oil

1 clove garlic, crushed

Salt and pepper to taste (lots of pepper)

1 tsp dried oregano

1 medium head romaine lettuce, torn in pieces

4 plum tomatoes cut in small pieces

1 large cucumber, slice

and peel

1 small red onion, thinly sliced

12 pitted black olives, halved

½ cup crumbled feta cheese

In a small bowl or jar, combine vinegar, water, oil, garlic,  salt, pepper and oregano. Mix well. Chill until needed. (Dressing tastes best when made a day or two ahead.) Place lettuce in a large bowl. Top with remaining ingredients. Just before serving, add dressing and toss. Makes 8 servings.
