American people are beginning to wake up

-A A +A

Slowly the American people are beginning to wake up from the fog or stupor they’ve been in since the election of the president.

They realize now, maybe not all, but enough that in their anger of President Bush’s administration, they wanted what was promised them by the other candidate, “hope and change” and that he would be a “transformative” president. Well he immediately put on a great surge in making changes never before seen in our great country. However, in the short period of only five months or so, it has become clear that he is attempting to radically remake the U.S. into something similar to Europe’s socialist states, ie: France, Germany and to change our country’s political system to a single party entity, read as no Republican party or any other.

Numerous things brought the light to come on finally, such as his promise of a new era of bipartisanship and then immediately shut the door on Republicans when drawing up the “stimulus” bill of over $789 billion. He said he would see to the end of “pork or earmarks” and promptly signed off on over 8,000 of them. Everything he wanted had to be done right now or the earth would cave in, this is called scare tactics. He saw to it that a corrupt group (ACORN), that he worked with and for in Chicago, was given a handout of $3 billion dollars. This was a pay back for their help in getting him elected. This is a group that currently is under indictments in 14 states for voter fraud and other crimes.

In the middle of a recession and an increasing mixed up stock market, his new budget is for over $1 trillion dollars in new taxes, amid a massive income redistribution scheme. Clearly he wants to penalize all groups that voted against him and to aid all groups that voted for him such as the unions. His intention is to put as many people as possible on public dole and to reduce the influence of America’s richest. In doing these things you can see he is putting politics and political power and control above all else. Just look at one of his latest sneaky efforts; to take control of the US Census Bureau. He told Univision Radio that he still is “very committed to amnesty for illegals, some 12 million of them”. Our tax dollars will have to house and provide schooling, medical care, etc. Oh yes, they are all included in his New National Health Plan he is now pushing. It will be mandatory for all citizens and he wants the bill ready for his signature by July 31, 2009. Rush, rush again.

We can expect to see him come out and try to revive the old “Fairness Doctrine” that covers talk radio and talk TV so he can remove conservative speakers that have been so successful in enlightening the public as to what truly is going on in the country. It also covers what we’ll be allowed to hear. It’s the only way such news gets out as the “mainstream news media” refuses to say anything negative about the president as he has full control of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). They can make all the new rulings without congressional approval, sad to say.

In response to this expansion of federal power, some states are considering sovereignty resolutions invoking the constitutions ninth and tenth amendments. One state, Montana, has passed a resolution which is intended to challenge the “Commerce Clause Power.” It goes into effect Oct. 1, “Under the Firearms Freedom Act” which says guns produced in Montana and for use in Montana will not be under the control of the U.S. government, because the guns didn’t cross state lines. Utah is following suit with an even stronger challenge and Texas, Mississippi and Ohio are right behind. While some of these amendments pertain to guns, other states such as Michigan’s proposal urge the federal government to halt its practice of imposing mandates upon states for purposes not enumerated by the constitution. These resolutions are all well intentioned but they probably won’t have much impact on the federal courts since the courts have previously constructed almost unlimited congressional power. A former federal Judge, Ted Napolitano, says the constitution has been violated numerous times from the first day and to have any effect, these state resolutions20will have to come from many states in many forms because the first suit will be turned down or denied but if a lot of states will make similar efforts, federal judges will wake up and say what’s going on here, hopefully and will determine the federal government is out of control! The government will not have the manpower or funds to go into each of those many states to try and enforce their laws.

Another source of real power from the State Legislature that can be used to resist further growth of federal power is for a “constitutional convention” to be called. A petition to Congress for this convention which is for the purpose to propose new amendments to the Constitution would scare Congress to death, because its scope “cannot be limited in advance.” The government and Congress would fear a runaway convention that states can exploit to bring Congress to heel. This would give tea-party enthusiasts, which the government ignores and all other concerned Americans, a manner and way to restore our lost constitution.

This means that all is not lost quite yet, as perfectly legal ways exist and are available to stop the fear of a total take over by our government going in the wrong direction.

It was first the banks, then insurance companies (AIG), then auto companies where without any law backing or authority the General Motors CEO was fired by our President and as well as his board, then the company is told by our president which cars they must produce, which to drop, the gasoline mileage they are to get, they are told to cut their advertising budgets and salaries and bonuses. The company is suddenly owned 55 percent by the Unions; the bond holders get 29 cents on the dollar, etc. Don’t you get the feeling they are coming after you next? Remember, 1938-39 Germany when the y first came after the Jews and nobody objected, next it was books and no one objected – Is there a pattern here? The president says he doesn’t run the company! They really can’t, just look at what happened when the government has tried to run companies in the past, two examples are the U.S. Post Office and the railway system, both total losers. Is this the crowd you want to turn your health insurance coverage over to?  It’s all the same, if you don’t demand information and have discussions on the subjects of our health care, energy, guns or whatever, will just be imposed on you, all in secret, until after the congressional vote has been taken and the law is made.

To all this we can add, “the accumulation of all powers, legislative and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few or many and whether hereditary, self-appointed or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny”  ……James Madison
