Ocala woman

arrested at Bealls

On Dec.1, a loss prevention employee for the Beall’s Outlet spotted a shopper selecting two toys and then putting them into a bag, according to a sheriff’s report. The woman then passed all points of sale without stopping and was apprehended outside the store.

Anita C. Lesner, 49, of Ocala, was arrested and charged with petty retail theft. She was given a notice to appear in court.

The toys were valued at $58.95.

Suspect takes

off with vodka

Travis Leon Flatt, 27, of Dunnellon, was arrested and charged with petty retail theft following an incident on Nov. 29 where he allegedly took a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka from a Walgreen’s Liquor Store on S.R. 200. An anti-theft alarm alerted the store manager as he was leaving the store. According to the report, there was no security tag on the bottle and therefore it was suspected other items were stolen, a charge that Flatt denied.

Three companions, a girl and two boys who were with Flatt, received trespass warnings from Walgreen’s.

The vodka, valued at $16.97, was returned to the store by the girl. Two vacant homes
