On May 31, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office corrections assistant was arrested and charged with organized fraud and grand theft from a person over 65.
Deputies arrested Sharon Wagoner, 54, of 6518 S.W. 62nd Ave. on the charges.
A woman called the sheriff’s office to report that her 89-year-old stepfather had been exploited for a large amount of money, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
The stepdaughter claimed he had $40,000 in his bank account in 2007 and now the current balance was $9,000, according to the report.
