  • Marion County Sheriff's reports

    An Ocala man was arrested and accused of aggravated assault after he allegedly threatened a woman with a hammer.

    Daniel R. Puckett, 22, of Southwest 30th Street, was taken into custody after the incident, which was witnessed by a juvenile, was reported to deputies on Friday morning about 9 a.m.

    Shortly thereafter, a Dunnellon woman was arrested for simple battery after an altercation at a mobile home park on Southwest 30th Street.

    A Corridor pizza restaurant was the scene early Tuesday morning of an alleged domestic assault, which resulted in a suspect being Tazed before he was subdued.

    Prel Dedovic, 28, of Southwest 38th Avenue, was accused of aggravated assault domestic; aggravated assault, simple domestic battery, false imprisonment and kidnapping; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and resisting arrest without violence.

  • Marion County Sheriff's reports

    A quadriplegic living in a home on Southwest 103rd Street Road was arrested and accused of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Mark J. Weiner, 46, was arrested after deputies responded to his home late on June 5 acting on a tip. There were also women listed as caregivers present in the home, but Weiner allegedly told officers that he alone was responsible for growing the illegal substance, which he said was an experiment.

    The following incidents were reported by the Southwest District of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office this week.

    Megan Nicole Blackman, 21, of Hernando, was accused of grand retail theft after she was accused of taking CDs, toys, knives, tire gauges, camera and other small miscellaneous items from Walmart, for a total of $393.81. All items were recovered.

    She was booked into the county jail and released about 24 hours later under $2,000 bond.

    Deputies are investigating a burglary of a home that netted the thief a small amount of money and two firearms. The incident took place at Southwest 52nd Terrace in Timberwood.

    In other incidents reported:

    Two suspects, one a juvenile, were accused of burglary after a residence at Southwest 150th Street in Dunnellon was broken into. Chris Casey Bryant, 18, of Southwest 158th Lane, Dunnellon, was accused of burglary, and Michael Allen Gibbs, 15, of Southwest 29th Court Road, Ocala, was accused of residential burglary.

    An ATM at the Marion Oaks Bank of America was burglarized sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning this week, but no money was taken.

    According to Sheriff’s reports, the bank reported the burglary at 4:49 a.m. Tuesday. A surveillance video shows two males wearing ski masks, forcefully entering a drive-thru ATM with what appeared to be a crow bar. The damage caused is estimated at about $5,000 and the ATM will likely need to be replaced. The suspects were not able to retrieve any money.

    The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents in the Southwest area:

    3 An Ocala man was given a notice to appear for retail petit theft after an incident at Walmart on April 25. Shawn Richard Wiley, 39, of Southwest 85th Place, allegedly took two headlights from the automotive section of the store.

    3 A woman reported the theft of a piece of jewelry from her home on Southwest 105th Place.

    3 A resident of Southwest 79th Place reported that a pressure washer was stolen from a shed on her property.

    An Ocala woman who breached security at On Top of the World was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, trespass and disturbance, disorderly conduct.

    The following reports were provided by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office:

    Ryan L. Beck, 25, of Salt Springs, was accused of petit theft and financial fraud after he allegedly took a telephone out of Walmart without paying for it, then tried to return it, saying he did not have a receipt.

    Jonathan D. Simms, 20, of Southwest 37th Drive, was accused of burglary, grand theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after a burglary at a residence on Southwest 66th Court.

    A 20-year-old Dunnellon man was accused of DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended or revoked after an incident on State Road 200 in the early morning hours of April 30.
