A cleaning lady at a house on Southwest 59th Lane faces charges after the homeowner discovered two gold bracelets and one gold wedding band, valued at approximately $3,050, missing from her home.

Laura Michelle Noe, 38, of Northeast 3rd Street, Ocala, was accused of grand theft, dealing in stolen property and violation of the pawnbroker’s act.

A pair of traffic stops on the Interstate resulted in drug charges against two individuals, one from out of state.

On Aug. 12 at about 7:30 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle for following too closely in the rain.

During the stop the deputy noticed that the driver, James Mack Goins Jr., 43, of Slocumb, Ala., was shaking and drinking out of a plastic cup. A k-9 unit responded and the dog alerted on the vehicle. The deputy alleged found a plastic bag under the driver side floor mat containing a white powder, which field tested for cocaine.

A man who was discovered sleeping in someone else’s car was accused of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a woman came out of Walmart on State Road 200 and found Shawn Thomas Miller, 38, of Southwest 52nd Street, sleeping in her car. She called deputies, who arrived and found Miller still asleep.

After being awakened, he first said that it was his father’s car and he had been sleeping for several hours because he had been drinking.

A man who called the Sheriff’s Office to report he was the victim of a physical confrontation over a bag of marijuana ended up in jail.

David Lawrence Connelly, 48, of Southwest 73rd Court, Ocala, was accused of possession of marijuana less than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
