A Corridor woman was scammed out of more than $2,400 recently by phone.
The woman received a phone call from a man who said he was her grandson, that he was involved in an auto accident, and needed $2,300 to get his car fixed before he would be allowed to leave England.
The woman went to Winn-Dixie and wired the money, also spending $125 for the cost of the wire.
Soon after, she said the man called back and was very polite, thanking her.
