On Thursday, March 8, an adventuresome group from Joy Lutheran Church attended the Horses In The Sun (HITS) competition held at the Post Time Farm on U.S. 27. From all accounts, this group of 19 members thought the day was a HIT. It was a beautiful sunny day and the horses were impressive, graceful “jumpers.” Twenty three horses competed for the $25,000 prize. There were three finalists and the successful winner was a 16 year old young man who had two perfect rounds.

    Legion post to meet

  • Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday first celebrated in 1737 by Irish immigrants in Boston. Now almost everyone celebrates by wearing green, being honorary Irish, drinking green beer, and eating corned beef and cabbage.
The Irish can be proud; going green the year around has now become a worldwide objective. In honor of St. Patty, Pun Alley gets painted green and has some Irish fun.

  • March madness is coming. College men’s basketball playoffs involving 68 teams will play in a single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion. Scheduled to begin on March 13, it will conclude with the championship game on April 2 at the Superdome in New Orleans.
With the ball bouncing down Pun Alley we hope to score a few points with punny stuff that didn’t hit the basket.
