It’s hard to question a player’s heart without knowing all the facts, yet that’s what a lot of people are doing about Jay Cutler.
To me, they’re picking on the wrong person. As it turned out, the third string quarterback nearly brought the Chicago Bears back to victory while Cutler was on the sidelines.
What bothered me more was the decision to remove the No. 2 quarterback with 22 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Under NFL rules, if the third quarterback is brought in before the fourth quarter, neither the No. 1 nor the No. 2 quarterback can go back in.
Couldn’t the Bears have waited 22 seconds to put the third string QB in the game? What would have happened if he had gotten hurt?
There was precious little written across the Internet about this on Monday morning. Writers seemed to take glee in pouncing on a possibly injured quarterback, while giving a dumb coaching decision no ink at all.
As it turns out, we get a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. More on that matchup when we get closer to the game.
