Joy Lutheran Church
Sunday, Sept. 11 starts the regular church season with worship services returning to 8:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday school will be at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday evening worship service continues at 6:45 p.m. as does the German Language Worship service on the first Sunday of each month at 3 p.m. The vocal and hand bell choirs will begin again in the month of September.
September 11 is Rally Sunday when all the various ministries and educational programs share their informational materials which will be available in the church narthex.
The church circles will become active again in September. Peace Circle will resume their monthly meetings, on the second Monday of the month at 9:30 a.m. as will the Faith Circle which meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 12:30 p.m. Starting in September both groups will be studying the Gospel of Mark using the Lutheran Woman Today magazine The Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Association (WELCA) will have a board meeting on Sept. 6 followed by a general meeting on Sept. 20. The general meeting will be a brunch and a discussion of the planned activities for the coming year. The busy fingers of the quilters in the Joyful Hands Circle will continue to meet weekly on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
Bible Study with Pastor Ed Holloway will begin Thursday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. He will be reflecting and instructing on the Gospel of Luke. The community is welcome to attend all these events.

St. Jude Catholic
The Bereavement Group for those grieving the loss of a loved one will meet on Tuesdays
Sept. 13 and Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. Meetings are open to anyone in the community with a need to share their feelings of grief. Please call the church office at 352-347-0154 prior to each meeting you plan to attend.
The LifeLong Learning Religious Education Program classes resumed during August.
A children’s Mass, with children reading and the Children’s Choir leading the music is planned for Sunday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m.
Creole Masses for the Haitians in our community are celebrated every second and fourth Sunday of the month at 5 p.m. The next dates are Sept. 11 and Sept. 25.
Classes for Spanish as a second language will resume Sept. 8.

Open registration
at Beth Israel school
Congregation Beth Israel of Ocala announces open registration of its religious school, Congregation Beth Israel School of Jewish Education. The school currently meets once a week on Sunday mornings at various places in the community. The curriculum consists of Jewish life cycle and history, Hebrew, Bible, holidays and traditions as well as courses on Israel and pre-bar and bat mitzvah and confirmation classes. The school caters to the individual needs of the students and parent participation is encouraged. The staff consists of caring, experienced teachers. Suzanne Boetger is Educational Director. High Holy Days are fast approaching. Temple B’nai Darom, a traditional reformed temple, and our spiritual leader for more than 25 years, Rabbi Harold Jaye, would like to invite you to celebrate the holidays with us.
Rosh Hashanah services are Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m., Thursday Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. and Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. (Sabbath of Repentance).

Services are open to members. One month memberships that include all High Holiday services and events are available. All are welcome to attend Yiskor services.
