The melodious tunes of the traditional but contemporary Kabbalat Shabbat combined with the tastes of the delicacies of Shabbat will leave you energized, uplifted and ready to take on a new week. No prior knowledge, affiliation, or membership is necessary. No charge but donations to our center are welcome.

Temple Beth Shalom

Joy Lutheran Church
Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 6:45 p.m. there will be a special contemporary worship service to celebrate Thanksgiving at Joy Lutheran Church. Pastor Edward Holloway, Jr. Senior Pastor will provide the message, “Just Thanks.” Communion will be served and music will be provided by the Joy Choir. Participants are asked to bring canned goods to donate to Interfaith. All are welcome.
Sunday, Nov. 27 is the First Sunday of Advent. On this day, the women of Joy Lutheran Church will have their ThankOffering Sunday in which they conduct the entire service at 8:15 and 11 a.m. The offerings collection will be sent to the ELCA headquarters to be used for national church programs, such as, scholarships, World Relief, World Hunger, Global Missions and Bible studies.
The following four Wednesdays in Advent at 6:45 pm, the Rev. Edward Holloway, Jr. Senior Pastor, will conduct the services and provide the message regarding the “Star Story.” There will be “The Fallen Star, The Promised Star, The Guiding Star and the Perfect Star.” All are welcome to attend these services.

Maranatha Baptist Church
It is that time of year again when we all start to think of the meaning of Christmas. The annual shoe box drive is scheduled to continue until Sunday, Nov. 13. The boxes will be collected on Wednesday, Nov. 17. “Share God’s Love and the joy of Christmas by packing a gift-filled shoe box for a hurting child overseas.
Your simple gift can make an eternal difference.” The Church will have shoe boxes available beginning Sunday, Oct. 23. They are grouped as follows: boys, ages 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14 years old, and the same for girls, ages 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14 years old.

Congregation Beth Israel

Congregation Beth Israel will hold a Shabbat evening service on Friday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. at the Collins Resource Center, Suite 303, 9401 State Road 200 in Ocala.
The service will feature joyous singing and up-lifting music and a special Torah learning session based on the portion of the week. The service leaders will be Judi Siegal, president of the congregation and former Jewish educator and Sonia Peterson, treasurer of the congregation.
