Countryside Presbyterian Church
Countryside Presbyterian Church, 7768 S.W. Highway200, Ocala is asking each member to bring a friend or neighbor to the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Reformation Sunday, Oct. 30, when we will celebrate our Presbyterian heritage and the sixth anniversary of our magnificent sanctuary. This day commemorates the inception in 1524 of the Reformed Church by Martin Luther, a German Catholic monk who nailed his 95 Theses on the Wittenberg castle church door.
It also commemorates the French-born preacher and bible scholar John Calvin, known as the Father of Presbyterianism, who after converting to Protestantism in 1533 fled to Switzerland. Calvin was joined there by the Scottish reformed minister John Knox who eventually returned to Scotland where he founded the Presbyterian Church of Scotland.
Reformation Day service at Countryside will include the procession of tartans and the playing of bagpipes. We will have an anniversary cake at our coffee hour following the service.
The public is invited. For further information, please call the church office at 352-237-4633.
