The Marion County Genealogical Society will meet on Thursday, June 18 at 2 p.m. at the main public library on East Silver Springs Boulevard. A brief business meeting will be followed by a program, Researching Sideways Around Brick Walls presented by Gary M. Smith.

Jazz Society to perform

The Ocala Jazz Society will be back with jazz, Big Band, Dixieland and your favorites on Sunday, June 21, from 2 to 5 p.m. at VFW Post 4781, 9401 SW 110th St., across from Oak Run. The band performs on the third Sunday of each month.

‘Chicken Soup’ guest at Ocala West

Eva Pennington, 18-time contributor to “Chicken Soup for the Soul,” Eva comes to Ocala West United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 21 at all services — 8 and 11 a.m. Traditional and 9:30 a.m. Contemporary.
This Father’s Day, Pennington will speak on “God the Father” from her book Daily Devotions on the Names of God.
All are welcomed to be blessed by this special time with an inspirational author.

Breast Cancer Support Group

The SOS (Sisterhood of Survivors) Breast Cancer Support Group meets the last Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Chapel, Room 235.
Our meeting on Tuesday, June 30 will be off-site at Ruby Tuesdays on State Route 200 at 1 p.m.
