Saturday, Oct. 30

Gun show planned at armory

Fraternal Order of Police 145 will have a gun show on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the National Guard Armory, 900 S.W. 20th St., Ocala.

CWP classes will be offered for $55. Admission is $6 for adults, children under 12 free. Vendors are being sought. For information, call 352-236-3069.

Trash to Treasure Sale

The church of the Advent will have its fourth annual Trash to Treasure Sale on Saturday, Oct. 30. This will be an outdoor event; rain date will be Nov. 6.

Craft, flea market and food vendors are welcome to participate.

Set up time will begin at 6 a.m. with the actual sale beginning at 8 a.m.

Spaces will be approximately 10 feet x 10 feet and rent for $15 each.

Most of the spaces are shaded. These will be assigned on first come, first served bases. Contact Al Sickle 352-208-5664 for additional information.

The church is at 11251 S.W. County Road 484, 1.3 miles west of State Road 200.

Moose public breakfast

A public breakfast will take place at the Moose lodge every Sunday in October from 9 a.m. to noon.

Coffee, juice, potatoes, biscuits with gravy, toast, choice of bacon, sausage or ham, all at a great price!

Check it out at the “Friendliest Place in Town.”

The lodge is on Southwest 110th St., one mile north of the State Road 200 main entrance of Oak Run.

Choir festival at Joy

On Oct. 31, Reformation Sunday, there will be at Choir Festival at 3 p.m. at Joy Lutheran Church. The service will include songs and a sermonette from Martin Luther’s three ideas of: Faith, Word and Grace. The Rev. Ed Corneilson from St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church will direct the combined choirs of several local Lutheran churches. A light lunch will follow the service in Swenson Hall.

Sax quartet to perform

Marion Chamber Music Society presents The Onyx Saxophone Quartet to perform at Queen of Peace Church Sunday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. Composed of four faculty members from Central Florida, they will perform a varied mix of classical concert favorites. The subtlety and power of the saxophone brings a new and exciting color to standard wind repertory. Members of The Onyx Saxophone Quartet are founding member Dr. Jonathan Helton, soprano saxophone, Dr. Michael Bovenzi, alto saxophone, Joseph Tomasso, tenor saxophone, and Mathew Poland, baritone saxophone. Yard sale at Friendship Baptist

A “gigantic yard sale” will take place at Friendship Baptist Church, 9510 S.W. 105th St., Ocala, on Friday, Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 6, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This includes a food and bake sale, household items, clothes, yard equipment, exercise equipment, hand painted pictures, shop vacs, toys, antique furniture, and much more.

Woods and Meadows garage sale

Woods and Meadows will conduct a neighborhood garage sale with more than 100 homes taking part on Friday, Nov. 5, Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th, starting at 8 a.m. each day.

There will be plenty of new and used items.

From State Road 200, go to Southwest 80th Avenue and turn south. Go straight until it dead-ends.

Make a left on Southwest 103rd Street Road and it will be the second subdivision on the left.

Annual bazaar at Marion Landing

On Nov. 6, Marion Landing will be having its annual bazaar. There will be craft tables, jewelry, used books, bake sale as well as white elephant sale. Coffee, sandwiches, and finger foods will also be available.

Fall bazaar at Coventry

Saturday, Nov. 6, beginning at 8 a.m., Coventry Episcopal Church will be having its first Fall Bazaar and Craft Sale. Coventry is at the corner of CR 312 and 475 (20 S.W. 87th Place, Ocala). Be sure to come by and check out our white elephant sale, craft tables, used books, bake sale, plant sale, and 50/50 raffle. You can also please your palate while you shop with a hot cup of coffee and a donut; or maybe an icy cold beverage, and a freshly grilled hot dog!

Yard sale at Quail Meadow

The Quail Meadow community will conduct a fall yard sale on Saturday, Nov. 6, starting at 8 a.m., with multiple home participation.

The community is off U.S. 27. Enter at Northwest 49th Avenue.

Disney sale benefits United Way

The chess club that formed at the Freedom Public Library meets the first Saturday of the month, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saddle Oak plans craft fair.

The annual Saddle Oak Club annual craft fair will be Saturday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on State Road 200 across from Heath Brook and Publix.

There will be hand-made crafts and homemade baked goods, breakfast, coffee and doughnuts, lunch with homemade soups and sandwiches, and a free raffle every hour.

Ocala Palms sets craft show

Wood turners, artists and jewelry makers are included among the many craft people registered for the annual craft show inside the Ocala Palms community on Nov. 6.

The show is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free.

Lunch will be available for purchase.

The show is in the Ocala Palms Golf and Country Club, 5000 N. Hwy. 27.

German American Club picnic set

The German American Club of Marion County will hold its annual picnic on Sunday, Nov. 7, from noon to 6 p.m. at Coehadjoe Park, 4225 N.E. 35th St., Ocala. Admission is $5 per member or $8 per non-member. Music provided by Bavarian Oskar! German American food prepared by club members will be served buffet style and includes: bratwurst, polish sausage, hamburgers, desserts, coffee and sodas. Vet program at Palm Cay

“Thank you for serving” is the theme of a program that will be presented for veterans to remind them that they are appreciated and will never be forgotten. Entertainers from various communities, will be providing a wonderful evening of entertainment. You might even consider wearing dance shoes... and dance to a tune or two with the 'stars'.

It all happens at the Oasis ballroom, in Palm Cay, on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.

This show is free for all veterans. Other guests are $2. Tickets/seating are limited and may not be available the date of the show.

SummerGlen holiday, craft fair

On Saturday, Nov. 13, a holiday and craft fair will be held at the SummerGlen Grand Hall. This event is sponsored by the “SummerGlen Quilters” and tickets for quilts will be sold to benefit charities in the Local Ocala Area! These tickets will enable you to win a quilt. There will also be: assorted crafts, boutique items, candles, gourmet goodies, handcrafted baskets, and jewelry.
