The secret of successful aging

Adapting to a new bodily feeling and letting go of how it used to be is to live in the present. Rather than wanting the old feeling back, when you live in the now you understand that the old feeling is gone and a new feeling is here, and it’s simply a new way of feeling.

When you adapt to the inevitable changes in life you are more at ease and content. Know that the majority of our problems come from preconceived thoughts. In order to be joyous and peaceful, you must be completely open to a new way of thinking.

How do we do this? We work on having a vacant mind. Stop thinking and eliminate “what if.” Nobody knows what’s going to happen in the future. Only God knows, and that’s exactly how it’s meant to be.

We can calculate, show all the reasons why, argue that this is this, or that, and because of past occurrences this will happen. We say it has a 40 percent chance of occurring, 10- or 30 percent, little or no chance.

The bottom line is that nobody can predict what will happen tomorrow.

We tend to think that because a person has a lot of education (doctors, financial advisers, etc.) they know more about us than we do. Also if they happen to be right once, we think they know. Not true. Nobody can boast of a record of predicting anything over and over again.

Wake up and realize that you are the expert about you. What you think is best for you, only you really know.

To conclude; self confidence is your best friend. Know and believe that you will make the right decision and leave the rest to God, because everything happens exactly as it’s supposed to.

As soon as you realize this, you will be peaceful and joyful with everything and everyone.
