Featuring music by Trey Dees and Bon Tempos Band, the dance is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Palm Grove Club, 6:30 to 100 p.m.
Ticket sales will be Monday, Aug. 5, 8 to 10 a.m. in the card room of the Orchid Club. Cost is $6 per person. All other ticket requests, please call Carol Forgette, 352-873-3074. Make your check payable to ORHA; please no cash.

ORHA General Meeting
Oak Run Homeowner’s Association (ORHA) and the neighborhood representatives will meet jointly at the general meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 9 a.m. in the Orchid Club. Join your neighbors, have a cup of coffee; your attendance shows support for your board. The directors will have their workshop immediately following in the card room.
Be sure to put the September meeting (the second Wednesday of the
month) on your calendar as the board will have a special presentation that will be of interest to all residents.

Performing Arts Company
Rehearsals for “The Wizard of Oz” start Saturday, Aug. 3. Time will pass very quickly, and soon it will be show week, Oct. 11, 12 and 13.
So, get your tickets early. The first public ticket sale date is Aug. 10 at the Orchid Club during Donut Drop-In. Look for our flyer about the show and ticket sale dates in your August newsletter. For those who are not able to get to the public sale venues, you can order your tickets by calling Linda at 352- 873-9908.
In addition to new members being in the cast, we have newbies in key “behind the scenes” roles. Janice Agerter joined our group in April, and she is our director. Maggie Naypaver, our stage manager for this show, is not new to PACOR, but is new to this key job. The same is true for Clara Lasky, who has signed up to be her assistant. Dick

Do You Remember? - “Name That Tune”
Tune in channel 12 for Len Teitler’s presentation of the April 2013 “Name That Tune” with the Italian American Club, narrated by Anna Boodee. It will air following “FYI” at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily from Aug. 2 to 9.
Baby Boomers dance and Hard Rock trip
The Baby Boomers celebrate the coming of cool fall weather with music provided by Charles Cook. Mark your calendars for Friday, Aug. 23, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Palm Grove. Bring your favorite snacks and beverage. Dance, let your hair down, have some fun.
Tickets will be available from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, Aug. 10 and 17 in the Orchid Club lobby. Cost will be $5 for members and $7 for guests. Make checks payable to ORBB please. For more information call hostess Peggy Simpson at 352-208-6554.

It will soon be Hard Rock time again! Boomers and their guests are invited to join us Tuesday, Oct. 22, for a fun trip to the Tampa Hard Rock Casino. We leave from the Palm Grove lot promptly at 11:30 a.m. and depart from Hard Rock at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $21, which covers bus transportation including the driver gratuity. There will only be one bus. Ticket sale date is Saturday, Aug. 10, in the Orchid Club lobby from 9 to 11 a.m. Call Adele at 352-854-4963.

Just a reminder that we have wait lists available for our trips and there is always a chance you can get in on one of the following. Don’t hesitate to call the host to find out.
Our second 2-day Midweek Getaway is on Nov. 6 and 7. The trip includes the Seminole Casino, Immokalee. We will overnight at Holiday Inn, there will be a cheese and wine reception and dinner. The show will be “Cats” at the Broadway Palm. The second day there will be a hot breakfast buffet before leaving for gaming at the Hard Rock
Casino, Tampa. Connie Smith is our host.
Don’t forget our Thanksgiving cruise to the Eastern Caribbean aboard Royal Caribbean’s “ Independence of the Seas”. The ship leaves on Nov. 23 and returns Dec. 1. As usual, John Casabianca has put together a very nice 8-night cruise to the ports of Phillipsburg, Basseterre, San Juan, and Labadee along with three full cruising days for relaxation.
December will be here before you know it so here are our last two trips for the year. On Friday, Dec. 13, trip 19 leaves at 8 a.m. for the Stetson Museum in Deland. You will enjoy this special place with a guided tour of the first and second floors while holiday music is played on the grand player piano. The mansion will be decorated for Christmas and you’ll be told the history of the home while you stroll through the many bedrooms and bathrooms. After the tour we will have lunch on our own and then have a guided bus tour of the city of Deland including the 1920’s theatre, Stetson University and more. Ameila and Ron Fiore are the hosts on this trip.
Christmas Day, the bus leaves at 10 a.m. on our trip 20 for the Show Palace Dinner Theatre where a scrumptious buffet awaits us at noon.
The show starts at 1 p.m. and features”Show Palace Christmas” with old favorite tunes and new gems. It is a delight from start to finish filled with humor and high energy entertainment. Rita Stotz is our host.
