Ambassadors have good shows planned

By Laura Smith

Dear readers, Happy New Year! Now about those resolutions! How about this one? Every day I will show gratitude for something. Perhaps when I see a beautiful moon, sunrise or the song of a bird I could give thanks for nature. See it can be really simple and easy to do. How about trying it with me?
Wait until you read all the shows the Ambassadors are having this year. I definitely plan on getting to the ticket sales. Doesn’t a black and white ball sound like fun? Don’t forget to take checks for your tickets. I would like to take a moment and say we are all sorry that Della Blanchard’s husband Jack passed away this past week. When we talk about Ambassadors it is Della Blanchard because she has given so much for the success of this group. We must also give thanks to Paul Pike who along with Della gives us so many great programs and dances all year. Oak Run is a great place to have fun but it is also a great place to have folks walk along side of you when you are grieving losses.
Please note that Chinese Mah Jongg is growing in popularity so a new group is starting up, please see article. I have had several people ask me how Debbie (her story in the October’s Citizen issue) is doing. Debbie had her surgery and from what I hear is doing well. She will tell you “cancer” will not win the fight with her! I agree with that. I hope to see you at the Orchid Club celebrating a new year. Let us all look for a great 2016 in a great community. Wishing everyone associated with Oak Run (residents and owners) a very Happy New Year! Laura
