Noted Author to Present "The Underground Life of Plants: How Roots Work"

Craig Huegel, noted Florida gardening author, will present "The Underground Life of Plants: How Roots Work" 6:00 pm, Monday, February 27, at the Florida Native Plant Society meeting in the Belleview Public Library. Dr. Huegel is a naturalist, professor, nursery owner, radio D.J and a very engaging speaker. Craig is the author of multiple popular books on landscaping for wildlife, gardening with wildflowers and landscaping with native plants. He co-founded the Cooperative Urban Wildlife Extension Program, established the Florida Backyard Wildlife Habitat Program and has received numerous state and regional awards for his environmental education, restoration and preservation work. 

Monthly meetings of the Marion Big Scrub chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society are free and open to the public and are held the last Monday of the month at the Belleview Public Library, 13145 SE County Hwy 484, Belleview, FL 34420. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the Belleview Public Library's native wildflower garden.
