Three charged with DUI

Three drivers who refused to take breath tests were charged with DUI in recent incidents reported by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Southwest District.

On Oct. 9 at 7:42 p.m., a deputy stopped Bruce James Weaver, 55, of Austin, Texas, on Southwest 80th Avenue because his vehicle failed to stay in a single lane. After allegedly failing the field sobriety tests, Weaver refused to supply a breath sample and was arrested.

On Oct. 1 at approximately 2:20 a.m., a deputy stopped Scott Lacy Skinner, 30, of Count Fleet in Ocala, on West State Road 40, for speeding on his motorcycle. After allegedly failing the field sobriety tests, Skinner refused to supply a breath sample and was arrested.

On Sept. 28 at 10:30 p.m., a deputy stopped Sandra Jean Peters, 46, of Southwest 32nd Terrace, on Southwest State Road 200 after she allegedly turned from Southwest 60th Avenue to go east in the westbound lane. After allegedly failing the field sobriety tests, she refused to supply a breath sample, claiming she was on medication, and was arrested.

In other reports:

Two people were arrested and two separate stores for retail grand theft.

On Sept. 29 at 9:23 p.m., Camarie Noel Hazen, 20, of Cedar Tree Terrace, was accused of retail grand theft at Walmart. She was a store employee who allegedly took items into the break room without paying for them.

On Oct. 4 at 4:28 p.m., Kimberley Dawn Nichols of Inverness was charged with retail grand theft after she allegedly took some items from Beall’s.

Two people were given notices to appear after incidents on the Corridor.

On Oct. 2 at 7:35 p.m., Jessica Elizabeth Lynch, 20, of Inverness allegedly took items from Walmart.

On Oct. 4 at 4:14 p.m., Michael Lee Allen, 51, of Southwest 79th Terrace in Florida Highlands, allegedly had drug paraphernalia in his vehicle which was being examined for illegal window tint.
