-A A +A
By Nancy Archer

Dance in air conditioned comfort when those Hot Summer Nights settle in, June 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. Cool music by Marti Carroll, sandwiches, snacks, and soft drinks.

Cost is $8 per person. For tickets, see Nancy Archer, or Geri at the office.

Democratic Club

Southwest S.R. 200 Coalition president Pat Gabriel is scheduled to speak at this month’s meeting. She will update us on developments in the Corridor and discuss aspects of county politics as local election races heat up.

Voter registration cards are available. If you are not registered or wish to change party affiliation, we can make changes. Support our Soldiers Committee to show our appreciation for our troops’ dedication.

The Cherrywood Democratic Club meets monthly on the third Friday (June 20) at 2 p.m. in the Clubhouse card room. For more information, call Harriet Scarpino at 873-9955.

Entertainment Committee

Summer is almost upon us and the heat has started. So why not come out to our annual Ice Cream Social on July 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. Price is $3 per person for all the ice cream and toppings or ice cream sodas you can eat or drink.

Tickets are on sale, so go see Geri at the Clubhouse or Nancy Archer at Bingo. We will also have a 50/50 drawing.

We are sorry we had to cancel the April spring dance but it was due to the lack of ticket sales. If an event doesn’t sell enough tickets to break even it has to be cancelled.

The Entertainment Committee doesn’t have the funds to finance the events. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to contact us or come to the next meeting and participate. .
