Poolside horse races to have western theme

By Nancy Archer

Poolside horse races will have a western theme on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m.
Get your Cowgirl or Cowboy Rider,  Decorate your Horse Western Themed  and get your rooting section together and let’s have fun.
Then plan to celebrate the evening dancing to our favorite DJ, Richard Becotte.
He says he will play music until you  tell him  to stop.  Remember to bring some snack with you and your favorite drinks.
Remember to bring your dollars for the 50/50 tickets.

New Aerobics class
There is a new co-ed stretch, strengthen and aerobics exercise class Mondays at 6 p.m.
This class is geared for those residents who still go to work each day.  Call Geri to see when the classes will start.

Cherrywood Songbirds
The songbirds will entertain everyone on Sunday, Dec. 4 for our annual Christmas Trim-a-Tree.  Hope to see you there!  Your Christmas ornaments will be out on tables for you to put on the trees.
For those of you who are new to Cherrywood and to our Christmas Trim-a-Tree, what you need to do is find a special ornament, put your name on it with the year you moved into Cherrywood on it and bring it with you to put it on a tree.
Remember  bring some goodies to share with everyone.
Last year we had a few people who were hoarse after singing the Twelve Days of Christmas in a competition style.  So it should be fun again this year.

Movie night
Movie night will be Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.
Coming in December, “From Here to Eternity” in honor of Pearl Harbor’s 70th anniversary.
Bring your favorite beverages; lemonade and popcorn are provided. Hope to see you there.

Ladies’ evening social, Tuesday, Dec. 13, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Ladies’ Lunch, Wednesday, Dec. 14, noon to 1:30 p.m. Please bring a stuffed animal to collect for children. Marion County Sheriff’s officials will be there to collect them.

New reporter
I would like to thank our new reporter, John Everlove, who will be helping me out with the South Marion Citizen. John has been taking pictures at the different events that have been at Cherrywood, also he has written some great articles in the past two weeks and he has done a great job.
Hats off to John. Great job, keep up the good work. I will be working with him.
I’m sure everyone knows that I will be going into the hospital Dec. 7, then I’ll be going into the Life Care Center of Ocala for 20 days after that.
My daughter and John will be working on the article together.
Please remember to get all your articles to us no later than Thursday. This way I have time to get them to the Citizen on time. My e-mail is bluejay10453@live.com.
